What is a Research Experience for Undergraduates?

The “Research Experience For Undergraduates” is a National Science Foundation initiative which gives 10 undergraduate students from all over the United States the opportunity to engage in 10 weeks of cutting edge research in sustainable polymer engineering at USM. They also participate in professional development and outreach activities. Students are granted stipends and assistance with housing and travel.

US Citizen or Permanent Resident

Current undergraduate student

Community College student eligible

Areas of Polymer Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science & Biology are preferred.

Sophomores and Juniors preferred
